The mains we tried (risotto primavera and a very tender jumbo short rib of beef) were delicious, the sides were fine (plain mac 'n' cheese and surprisingly spicy padron peppers – only one in ten are said to be spicy but every single one on this plate was, which was quite exciting). But the star of the show on the food menu was definitely the mezze sharing platter. We ate it up so quickly we forgot about pacing ourselves for the next course. . Also, the cocktails are to die for. Trust me when I tell you to ignore the standard Happy Hour cocktails and go for head bartender @gledarsson's creations instead. We tried the lime-and-white-chocolate '21st Century White Mozart', the heady 'Spiced Apricot Sour', and the cinnamon-spiced 'Chora'. Amazingly-mixed and stand-out flavours. . Roast pork sandwich. Technically, this one uses pork confit chopped up and sautéed in a pan to serve, so it’s not actually roasted pork. @notalexis already yelled at me when I did this for what would otherwise be a Cuban sandwich, so Philly natives can assume I already know this is wrong. This is legitimately phenomenal pork, though. Topped with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe, all on my hoagie roll. More or less my same hoagie roll recipe as the last hoagie I posted, but this time I experimented with doing a long room temperature ferment, mostly for logistical reasons. Sesame seeded as always. I ended up scooping out part of the inside of the roll, as I did with the cheesesteaks, since it made sense given how much I was stuffing inside. I’ll eventually get better at scooping uniformly for the cheesesteaks and roast pork sandwiches, and it’ll look just like a Wawa hoagie, but until then, this is what you’ve got to look at. Love the roll, though, and I definitely ate the scooped out part.

📍Pujol 🇲🇽 Mexico’s top restaurant and 13 in the world ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍽The Dish: Mole Madre, Mole Nuevo ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️What makes it special? While the dish looks simple, the preparation is anything but. At the time of this 📷, the darker mole had been aged for 1,890 days (over 5 years!). The lighter mole, is the new mole. The contrast of the new vs old is apparent in both color and taste. The Mole Madre is a much richer, intense mole, while the young has a bit more spice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏆The verdict? The absolute best mole I’ve ever tasted. So yesterday was fun at Bundance on NationalBurgerDay in the U.K. (the USA one is in May). Being global burger fans, we get to celebrate this twice a year, but truly, whenever you fancy a burger 🤷🏼‍♀️ : Anyway, yesterday I managed just four sliders, clearly out of match practise, but here they are:- 1. The Mark Tuckaburg 2.0, 50-day aged beef (100g), American cheese, bacon jam, mayo, roast roast garlic butter toasted bun, served with pickles on the side. Thoughts: pickles could be sharper to cut through the sweetness of the bacon jam but lovely beefy flavour. Definitely want to try a regular sized burger now. 2. The Cheeseorito from @bleeckerburger 50 day aged beef patty (85g), Dorito house sauce, Doritos, American cheese, Dorito crumb Bleecker bun 😎 Thoughts: If you have been following me a while, you know I love Bleecker. What’s not to love about this fun slider? Beef on point as always 🙏🏼 3. The Deal Breaker by @handsomeburgergalway Brady’s Irish Beef (100g), candied bacon, Derg cheese, Buckie onions (Slow braised w/Buckfast wine) & Celtic pickles. Thoughts: bun was too dense but considering they brought everything including the buns, that may have added to the texture but enjoyable nonetheless and that cheese is wonderful & the star of the slider. 4. A Tasty Little Mouthful by @fourlegs_ldn, Aged Dexter beef patty (80g), Emmental, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, bacon & liquid smoke burger sauce. Thoughts : so this was interesting. I’ve heard fantastic things about their in-house, pared back burger, but for the slider they threw in salad, which may not have been needed. So now I’m in two minds ☺️ : : Regardless, it was great to see some genuinely lovely people out & about last night meet some new ones!
