I wanted a deep dark ocean but things are hard to see on black cardstock. I used twistedcitron distressoxide ink by ranger_ink first and then sprayed it with water before stamping. For the next layer, I used glow in the dark embossing powder by wowembossing wowembossingpowder . This glows so bright in the dark, it is great! Back at it with Maximum Concentration on the promo-selfie. Just had a super fun time going live and making this signage to let you all know there’s LESS THAN TWO WEEKS to pre-order my debut record. Also, if you’re a Patreon Patron, no matter what tier, you’ll get your name printed on the record, and you’ll get a digital copy. $25 tiers and up will get a physical copy. If you just want a CD without your name on it, you can do that by pre-ordering without becoming a Patron. Both options available at www.theslowdrag.com. Link in my bio! PS—you asked and you got it! This version of the signage features the addition of glitter, pipe cleaners, macaroni, rhinestones, and googly eyes. I was walking to the gym in my neighborhood the other day (to swim!) and saw a stranger marching by also on their way to the gym, with this sticker on their water bottle. They didn’t look like they were up for a chat but it filled me with delight to carry that little secret with me, of having made something that they seemed to enjoy. . I am also very proud of myself for making this smoothie when I don’t feel like eating. 🙌🏻 . . . [image a jar of blueberry smoothie with my “be wild be sweet” sticker on it. yarnhaul from my trip to Wollwirrware yesterday. I’m just IN LOVE with this combo for my dad’s hat. The plan is to make a two color brioche, with the green (looking blue in this pic?) on the outside and the pale yellow showing through from underneath. I’m particularly excited ‘cuz it’s the first time I’ve picked up yarn from either of these companies: rowanyarns super fine merino dk (yellow) and lanagrossa alpaca Peru 100 (green).

Made a trip to my local yarn shop today! Actually, we stopped at THREE different yarn shops in Bern, but in the end Wollwirrware did the trick. The owner (whose name I forgot to ask in all my excitement 🤦🏻‍♀️) was super friendly and helpful. She’d just gotten a new shipment of yarns and was still in the process of putting it all on the shelves, but she was kind enough to run up and down from the stockroom to grab different skeins she thought I might like. Ended up finding the perfect color combo for my dad’s beanie that’s next on the list, and we even got a couple skeins of bulky weight yarn for Dusty (!!) to learn to knit with (what is this universe I’ve found myself in? 😋) — What’s the name of your favorite LYS? Tag it in the comments 🥰

Matching breadknife and paringknife setting up in the shop. The bread knife is one of the most intriguing knives I've made. I definitely had some issues and challenges to get the geometry right without taking it too thin. At first, it was just ripping the bread. Then I ground a slight hollow from the teeth about a third of an inch up from the back of the teeth to the points at a zero grind. I had to re-grind the teeth and make sure it was also nice and sharp between each seration. Now it alices clean and thin. . . . thepxsmith joshaweston makingthings epoxy glueup handle making shopwork

I am a small batch art weaver, not a production weaver. It makes sense to set up a loom and work on several pieces, with variations, if I am going to get out all the materials and make a mess. I have not yet finished this warp, but I have made bases for 5 bags this week, 1 a day. I just cut them off the loom and am going to start sewing edges and prepping for straps. Many people ask how long it takes to weave a piece, but there are many stages from designing, collecting materials, setting up the loom, finishing, & tagging to make it ready for presentation and sale before it is done. . . . creativityfound artisantextiles fiberarts textiles igweavers artfulliving finecraft wip workinprogress inthestudiotoday openstudio artisanatwork staytuned makingfabric madebyhand makingthings slowliving artisanhandmade aclhandweaver traditionalcraft

I divided a brownie mix and futzed with it. The peanut butter and walnut one was lovely, the banana one tasty but undersized, and the s'mores one was a sticky mistake. THIS one was the spicy one Word to the wise: if you're checking the levels of spice in a batter, swallow. The heat often doesn't kick in until it gets to the back of your throat, sometimes. Rare: sunny days in the rainforest. You might recognize the thumbnail from a post in May; the harddrive on my desktop crashed- between moving across the country again & resettling into my new home it took awhile to pick up a new terabyte drive. But now I have 10, & cloud storage. Let's hope I finally start uploading to Shutterstock & actually make backups of files from here on out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The whole strip is about 4 minutes- will sneak the rest on in sections.////veryfucknexcitedtobebackonthewestcoastMAKINGTHINGS
