We're mad about matcha! Compared to regular green tea, matcha is higher in caffeine and 'theanine' - an amino acid that can increase calm and mental clarity. Before harvesting, Camellia sinsensis, the green tea plant used for matcha is shade-grown for about a month - allowing the leaves to develop a higher concentration of these compounds.
